What is distributive?
Distributives are determiners that are used to talk about how something is shared out or divided.The distributives are:
- ALL, BOTH, HALF
- EACH, EVERY, EITHER, NEITHER....
They are used with a singular noun because they refer to a group of people or things, and to individual members of the group.
They show different ways of looking at the individuals within a group, and they express how something is distributed, shared or divided.
- Each child was given a balloon.
- I remember every detail of our conversation.
- Either child could win the prize.
- Neither plan was successful.
Using distributives
1. Using "each" and "every" to talk about the members of a group as individuals.
