Look up the words in the exercises that you don't know or don't understand in a dictionary.
Play the audio as many times as you need.

Answer all questions in the exercise.
Read the transcript after you have listened to the audio.

Only play the audio once before answering the questions.

What is the good thing about having a toilet downstairs?
Visitors don't see your private area.
It is easy to clean.
Visitors prefer downstairs toilets.
It is near the kitchen.
Which system does the speaker like best?
She is not very sure.
A toilet on both floors
A toilet upstairs
A toilet downstairs
I'm a Japanese, and so far  I've lived in three countries, Japan - of course, because  I'm a Japanese - and England and the U-S.
In those three places, I lived in a house.
Houses in those three countries are very different.
And one of the things I found very funny was where they put the toilet.
In a big house with two floors... In Japan, the toilet is downstairs.
But in England, they have a toilet upstairs.
And in America, in the United States, they have one on each floor.
I think there are good points and bad points when having toilets upstairs or downstairs.
For example, if someone comes to your house and wants to use your toilet, it is easier if it is downstairs because you don't need to take him upstairs.
But if you are sleeping, which we normally do upstairs, and if you feel like go to the toilet at the middle of the night,
then it's easier if you don't need to come downstairs to go to the toilet...
So  I don't know which one is better.
But I think having a toilet on each floor seems to be the best.
So in terms of toilets,  I suppose American houses are the most convenient.
