What is the main point of the story?
Bad people have very good luck.
Bad things happen to mean people.
Good things happen to kind people.
Bad things happen to good people.

Once upon a time, there was a kind grandpa who lived in a small village.
He was so nice to everyone and everything.
He loved animals very much.
He had a dog who was his best friend.
Next door to him lived a bad old man who was mean to everyone.
He hated animals very much.
He had no friends at all.

One day, a little stray dog came to the village.
He was very hungry and cold.
He went to the bad old man's house and asked for some food.
"Go away, you dirty animal! Don't ever come back!" shouted the bad old man.
He kicked the little dog away.

The little dog ran away and went to the kind grandpa's house.
He barked at the door.
"Hello, little dog! What's wrong? You look so hungry," said the kind grandpa.
He gave him some chicken and bread.
The little dog ate until he was full.
He wagged his tail happily.
"You're welcome, little dog. If you have nowhere to go, you can stay with me," said the kind grandpa.
The little dog licked his face gratefully.
"Thank you, kind grandpa. You are very nice," said the little dog.
So the little dog started living with the kind grandpa.
They became good friends.
One day, when the kind grandpa was sleeping, the little dog started barking in the backyard.
"Woof woof! Come here! Come here!" he said.
The kind grandpa woke up and wondered what was going on.
"What is it, little dog? Why are you barking so much?" he asked.
The little dog led him to a spot where he had dug a hole.
"Look! Look!" he said.
The kind grandpa brought a shovel and dug deeper.
He couldn't believe his eyes. He found a jar full of gold coins!
"Oh my goodness! What a wonderful dog you are!" he exclaimed.
He hugged the little dog happily.
They were rich!

The bad old man saw everything from his window.
He was very jealous.
He wanted the gold too.
He made a plan to steal the little dog from the kind grandpa's house.
That night, when everyone was asleep, he sneaked into the backyard.
He grabbed the little dog and took him to his house. He locked him in a cage.
He waited for him to bark again. But the little dog didn't bark.
He didn't show him where more gold was. He just looked sad and scared.
The bad old man got angry. He yelled at him and hit him.
"You useless animal! You're no good for anything!" he said.
He threw him out of his house. He left him on the road to die.

The kind grandpa heard a noise outside.
He went out and saw his little friend lying on the ground.
He was not moving. He was not breathing. He was gone.
The kind grandpa cried and cried.
He said "Oh my little dog! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
He took him in his arms and carried him home.
He burned his body with love and respect....
And grabbed the ash in his palm and said "okay, now you’re going to go to the heaven."
He spread the dog ash to a dead tree. Then wind came. And dog’s ash just spread on the tree.
Those ash became very beautiful cherry flowers. And good grandpa’s dead tree became a beautiful cherry tree with lots of cherry blossoms.
